Thank you so much for this video. My parents and I lived here. They played golf for years at Helens Bay GC. I was married in the little church. My family and I have been living in Canada for the past 13 years. We love it here but it is nice to be reminded of the beauty in Helens Bay. Sadly my parents have passed now but they had a happy wonderful life there.

      Hi Janice,

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment on our video! It really made me very happy reading it. It’s hard to get people to watch videos these days – people don’t have the time anymore. So the fact that you enjoyed it so much was really rewarding.

Thank you also for sharing your story. Wonderful memories. I can imagine what it must feel like to you seeing somewhere you lived in what feels like a different life.

I have lived here for eight years but Nigel has been here all of his adult life. We love it and we will make more videos in the area like Crawfordsburn and Bangor.

Where in Canada do you live? It’s a country we would love to explore but we have a baby now so hiking is quite a task these days.

Thanks again Janice and have a lovely day,

Love your video! I have many happy childhood memories of day trips from Belfast to Helen’s Bay. As teenagers we camped there and now I live just up the road. Thanks for sharing.

It was so lovely to watch your video it brought back memories of my childhood. My grandmother had a little cottage there and i spent a lot of time on the beach and climbing the rocks. I live in Australia now for 47years but love to see the beautiful contryside there. Thank you so much. Bangor and donaghadee were some of the places we went to for our sunday school outings.

Enjoyed your video. We stayed in Helen’s Bay overlooking the golf course and the beach for a week earlier this year ( 2017). My parents grew up in Belfast and often went to the area on weekends.

Thanks Lorna. Were you in one of the new apartments? They look lovely. We probably walked past them pushing our son in his pram when you were here πŸ™‚

Love the video. I grew up in Helen bay and my father’s family lived in the Bay for years. Have been back many times most recently in June along with another friend who was bought up there. Hope to get back again next year or the following.
Helens bay has really grown from a little village that I knew but the beach is still the same. Spent many days on that beach. My dad had a little boat he kept in the boathouse that is no longer there. He use to take me fishing back and forth across the bay.

Thanks so much for your lovely comment, Kathleen! We’re so happy the video brought back some treasured childhood memories for you! Where are you now? Yes, Helens Bay has certainly grown because everyone wants to live here. We just hope that building will be limited to an extent that is respectful of the soul of this place.

Stunning video which captures the essence of where we live, which includes a shot of our apartment incidentally, as if made for us, thanks very much.
